Hello! I’m Erin, and I’m the maker behind Twee + Me.

I’ve been making art and craft pieces my whole life- I have vivid memories of turning a stocking into a pig as a child- and I think I’ve finally found my absolute favourite medium. Polymer clay opens up a world of possibilities when it comes to design, and I’ve been using this medium as my main creative outlet since 2015.

Twee + Me has been around for about 4 years now, most of that time it was my main gig, but as of mid 2023 I’ve taken it part time as I took on the role of social media manager for a fab local tattoo shop (times are hard for small businesses, friends).

I’m thankful for the support that’s allowed me to take part in major markets such as Finders Keepers, The Big Design Market, Sydney Made and the Makers and Shakers. There are more than 3000 earrings I’ve made out in the world!

Twee + Me is based from my home in Sydney, Australia. Before jumping head first into jewellery design, I was a photographer, then an Early Childhood Teacher, then a full-time Mum to Willow and Rupert. In my spare time you’ll find me drinking craft beer or Aussie wine, reading, playing boardgames… or, best of all, enjoying the sunshine at the park with my friends and family.

Thanks for popping by! I hope while you’re here you find a piece that’s completely YOU and that you love as much as I loved making it!

xx Erin

How my pieces are made

My pieces are made using polymer clay. Each piece starts as a lump of clay that needs to be worked until it is conditioned and ready to go. Then I make it into a slab to work off of, or twist it into a freeform shape. Sometimes a slab will have details added to it and be built into a picture. Other times, I roll colours out into a snake and cut slices off to add to the slab before rolling flat. Maybe I swirl different colours together to make a marble. There’s always pressing designs in, and adding foils, glitters, mica powders for extra special effects… There are so many ways to create with this material and I’m forever experimenting and learning.

When the clay is how I want it, I pop it in the family oven to cure (there is a Very Important Rule in our house to check there are no earrings in the oven before starting dinner!). Curing the clay properly makes it lovely and strong and hard so that it can last. Then I can sand it down to make the edges perfect, add the jewellery components to put it into its form, and it all comes together as a gorgeous pair of earrings! Any components that are made from acrylic are purchased from fellow woman-owned Aussie small businesses!
